At Ruoyi Taichi Academy (若一太极), Qigong is more than technique — it is a journey inward. “Ruoyi” means to follow the natural flow and return to harmony.
We guide our students in cultivating deep awareness and inner calm through consistent practice, supporting their healing, balance, and personal growth through the timeless wisdom of Qigong.

What is Qigong — A Path of Breath and Energy

Qigong (氣功) is an ancient Chinese system of coordinated movement, breathing, and meditation used for health, vitality, and spiritual development. It blends gentle physical exercise with mental focus and controlled breathing to cultivate and balance the body’s vital energy — Qi. Qigong is not only a form of exercise, but also a mindful way of living that promotes inner stillness, clarity, and harmony.

At Ruoyi Taichi Academy, we see Qigong as a powerful tool for reconnecting with the natural rhythms of life. Our approach encourages students to slow down, breathe deeply, and discover a sense of unity between mind, body, and spirit — allowing energy to flow freely and naturally in daily life.

Baduanjin – The Eight Brocades

Gentle Movement, Lasting Vitality

Baduanjin is one of the most well-known and widely practiced traditional Qigong routines.
With a history of over 800 years, it consists of eight gentle movements that aim to stretch the body, stimulate the internal organs, and promote the flow of Qi.
Its simplicity and effectiveness make it suitable for all ages and experience levels.

Daoyin Yangsheng Gong

Nourishing Life through Movement

Daoyin Yangsheng Gong is a modern Qigong system developed by Professor Guangde Zhang, grounded in traditional Chinese medicine and health preservation philosophy.
This system emphasizes coordinated breathing, posture, and intention to cultivate inner energy and vitality.

I had the opportunity to study this method with Dr. Xiaoqiu Li, a respected teacher certified with 7th Duan (Level) in both Wushu and Daoyin Yangsheng Gong.
His guidance has deeply enriched my personal Qigong practice.
